We gave 2 concerts that we forgot to mention here!
On March 4 we played Málverk by Haraldur V Sveinnbjörnsson, based on sketches by the Icelandic painter Ásgrimur Jónsson. The concert took place in his studio on his 140th birthday. He wrote music as a hobby and these sketches have never been performed before. We also played Andras Spang Olsen’s masterpiece Medi’DIS’tation.
On March 29 we played in the old Þjóðmenningarhús, now Safnarhús, the old national library together with the wonderful soprano Herdis Anna Jónasdóttir. We premiered a piece by her father, Jónas Tómasson, who will turn 70 later this year! Also on the program was Faux pas de Deux, by Jónas Tómasson, and Gábor Taryán’s Latitude/Longitude.
